Our Mission
From communication to sterilization to refrigerating medicine,
responding to a tragedy becomes a lot harder without electricity.
Solar Frontiers Corp builds and donates portable solar powered generators to assist communities that suffer from unreliable electrical grid access due to chronic poverty or sudden disaster. Our generators have been used to assist disaster relief responders, power medical clinics in poverty-stricken regions for applications in medicine, education and community outreach. We offer three generator sizes to fit the needs of the communities we serve. The smallest fits in a backpack and can power lights, laptops, and cellphones. The largest is a “microgrid” that can provide reliable power for a small medical clinic, school or emergency command center.Since our devices use no gasoline, diesel or oil they allow fuel to be diverted elsewhere, doubling their impact. The equipment we provide makes use of energy that is free, abundant, and clean, all with highly portable systems.
We never stop to think about how important electricity is until it's gone.

In 2012, Joe and Rebecca Della Valle watched helplessly after Hurricane Sandy as rescue teams and response personnel were hampered by decimated electrical grids. Afterwards Joe and Rebecca began to build solar powered electrical generators of varying size to be used by first responders in natural disaster relief both domestically and abroad, as well as by community organizations serving the impoverished. In the following years Joe and Rebecca have used their own resources to send 20 generators around the world and to organizations here in the United States. Their generators are powering maternity wards and orphanages in developing nations as well as school houses in refugee camps, and in 2017 were used by three separate organizations responding to Hurricanes Harvey, Irma and Maria. On Thanksgiving Day 2018 Joe and Rebecca founded Solar Frontiers Corp to help magnify the impact of their work. Their hope is that with your help we can make it possible for organizations working in areas without reliable electrical grid access to gain the resources needed to respond to humanitarian crises.
What We Do
1.2 Billion people worldwide have little or no access to electricity.
Solar Frontiers Corp has two procedures to respond to the needs of the communities and organizations we serve:1. Since we believe in putting equipment directly into the hands of those on the ground, Solar Frontiers Corp accepts grant applications from 501c3 organizations that conduct charity work in areas of the world with unreliable grid access. We offer temporary equipment grants to organizations planning short term missions to help magnify their impact. We also consider permanent equipment grants to organizations that can demonstrate a need such as a school, medical clinic or community facility that suffers from poor electrical access.2. Solar Frontiers Corp maintains a standing inventory of small solar generators to help those responding to natural disasters here in the United States. Using a streamlined application method Solar Frontiers strives to deliver solar powered off grid electrical assistance in as little as 24 hours to provide lighting, communications and emergency command operations immediately after disaster strikes.
Our Generators

Help Us Help Others
Joe and Rebecca started building and distributing solar generators using their own funds. But now, you can help.Solar Frontiers Corp is a registered 501(c)3 charitable organization with tax exempt status and very little overhead costs. We run the organization out of our homes, build solar generators in our basements and garages, and draw no salary. Your donations will go towards making sure that first responders and people serving at-risk communities are able to access reliable, clean, portable electrical systems even in the harshest conditions. To donate funds, please click the Paypal link above. All donations are tax deductible and enormously appreciated. We also accept donations of solar panels, inverters, and communications equipment provided the equipment is in acceptable shape and fits the needs of our systems. If you have unused solar, electrical, or communications equipment you would like to donate, please contact us.
Does Your Organization Need A Generator?
We have generators available for organizations that serve communities affected by tragedy, disaster, poverty or medical need under conditions where access to grid electricity is unreliable. We specialize in meeting the electrical access needs of first responders and disaster relief organizations, but our systems fit a wide variety of uses. A description of the types of generators we build and their capabilities is provided here.To receive a generator, we require the completion of a short grant-style application. Type 1 portable generators can also be quickly delivered without an application for temporary loan. This option is reserved for .For more information on receiving a generator for your organization, please contact us.

Socks for Shelters
Socks for Shelters is a side project that began in 2016, when the founders of Solar Frontiers gathered over dinner during the Christmas season to pack care packages for Delaware's homeless. The care packages included person care items such as soap, a toothbrush and toothpaste, nail clippers, lip balm, and of course a cozy pair of socks. We delivered these packages to a local homeless shelter called Sunday Breakfast Mission, and have continued to do this year after year.
This project has now grown from a small family endeavor to a monumental undertaking. Last year we delivered more than 500 care packages, paid for by private donations and a fundraising endeavor made possible by local restaurants and arts and culture organizations. This year, we aim to meet that same benchmark. Join us on December 7th 2024 for an afternoon of holiday cheer as we assemble care packages for the homeless, conduct a silent auction and other fundraising efforts, all while eating, drinking and making merry. A fantastic way to begin the Season of Giving!Location, time, and event details will be provided sometime in October. If you would like to donate to help us purchase the wholesale supplies needed for the care packages, please consider supporting our GoFundMe campaign!
